A petition has been filed in the Madras High Court seeking a direction to the Centre to appoint a full-time Governor for Tamil Nadu.

Besides, four universities in the state, including the premier Anna University, were functioning without a Vice Chancellor. Commissions like the State Human Rights Comission was also functioning without a Chairperson, he said.
These posts, to which appointments are made by the Governor, remained vacant because of the absence of a full-time occupant in the Raj Bhavan, the petitioner said.
