Idol found in snake pit

A 'panchaloha' idol of Lord

Hanuman was found in a snake pit at Idyankulam near here in Theni District, officials said.

Some workers noticed something glittering from the snake pit under a tamrind tree and informed Uthamapalayam tahsildar Shekar, who visited the spot along with other officials and ordered for the demolition of the pit.

Later, they found the 1.8 kg weighing idol.
