Press Trust of India Itanagar
Arunachal Pradesh Governor P B Acharya today said that India and Myanmar can be "purposeful and natural friends" as both the countries share common traditions and religious practices.

During his meeting with Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Vikram Misri at Raj Bhavan here, Acharya said, "With a clear vision, we can have a stronger relationship. People of the region must come above their personal agenda and strengthen social empowerment. Road communication and people to people interaction must be established."

Acharya said that people of the north-east must present the ground realities of the region to the Centre, according to a Raj Bhawan communique.

Misri is on a tour to four north-eastern states - Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur and Mizoram - sharing international border with Myanmar.
