J-K police establish helpline for braid-cutting incidents

With the braid-cutting incidents on the rise in south Kashmir, the police here has established a helpline for "instant help" of the victims.
According to a police spokesman, the people of Anantnag district can call 100 or call the police control room for help in case of any emergency regarding the braid-cutting incidents.
"On the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag Altaf Ahmad Khan, a helpline has been established for instant help in connection with braid cutting cases," a police spokesman said.

"A helpline has already been established at police control room in Kulgam district," the spokesman said.
Several mysterious incidents of braid-cutting of young women have been reported from south Kashmir.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has directed Director General of Police (DGP) S P Vaid to speed up the investigation into the case to nab the culprits.
