Kingpin of gang of robbers arrested

The Gurgaon police crime branch has arrested the suspected kingpin of a gang of robbers who used to rob people commuting between Delhi and Gurgaon after offering them lifts.

Praveen, 33, a resident of Jhajjar in Haryana, was arrested on Sunday from his hideout in Jhajjar, police said.

"Praveen and his associates used to offer lifts to innocent passengers in a cab from various intersections of Gurgaon such as Shankar Chowk, Rajeev Chowk, Iffco Chowk to Brijwasan, Dwarka and Daula Kaun in Delhi and then rob them at gun point," Gurgaon Police PRO Ravinder Kumar said today.

The gang came under the lens of police after a Dwarka resident filed a complaint that he was robbed of Rs 64,000.
