The second edition of Kochi-Muziris Biennale, which saw a total attendance of more than five lakh since its start on December 12 last year, will conclude tomorrow.

The 108-day contemporary-art extravaganza will come to an official closure at 5 PM when the biennale flag at the main Aspinwall House venue in Fort Kochi will be ceremonially brought down amid the presence of top KMB'14 officials among others, a release issued by the Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF) said here.

"We are extremely thankful to the art fraternity and people at large for their massive support to the second biennale," said Bose Krishnamachari, who is the founder president of the 2010-registered foundation based in this city, KBF said.
KBF Secretary Komu, an internationally-reputed Mumbai-based artist like Krishnamachari, expressed enthusiasm over the one lakh rise in KMB'14 footfalls compared to that of the debut edition.
"From next week, we will start un-mounting and dismantling the artworks. That, together with their shipping, will cost no less than Rs two crore," he added.
KMB'14 was inaugurated on December 12 late evening by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at the vintage Parade Ground in Fort Kochi.
