Freight rates for nine-tonne pay load section to Kolkata and Patna were higher by Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following shortage of trucks position in the markets as compared to pick-up in cargo movements.
Transporters said increased cargo movements against easy availability of trucks mainly led to the rise in Patna and Kolkata freight rates.
Delhi to Kolkata and Patna freight rates went up by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 29,000 and Rs 25,000, respectively.
Elsewhere, other centres' freight rates managed to hover around overnight levels on some support.
