Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd observes cleanliness campaign

The Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) is observing a cleanliness campaign from September 17 to 25, as part of the Swachh Bharat-Swachh Rail Mission, focussed on cleanliness and quality of service.

"The Konkan Railway is getting good response for the initiative and the co-operation of travellers is helping the railway to serve them better," the Konkan Railway said in a release here.

Various activities like clean environment, clean station, train, water, complex, cleanliness participation, cleanliness dialogue, dedication for ensuring cleanliness and aim to cater hygienic food are part of the campaign, it said.

Steps would be taken to create awareness among railway employees and their families to ensure cleanliness in their vicinity and skits would be staged at railway stations to create awareness among the passengers, it added.
 

Inspection would be carried out by a team of officers and staff at food stalls at stations and pantry cars aiming to provide hygienic food to passengers.

Special focus would be given in providing safe drinking water and cleanliness of stations and trains, the release said.
