Lavasa takes charge as Expenditure Secretary

Senior IAS officer Ashok Lavasa has taken charge as Secretary for Department of Expenditure in the Finance Ministry.

"Shri Ashok Lavasa, IAS takes over as new Secretary, Expenditure, Min of Finance here today. Shri Lavasa succeeds Shri Ratan P Watal," the Ministry of Finance said in a tweet.

Lavasa, a 1980-batch IAS officer has replaced Ratan P Watal, who retired today after completing his extended term.

Earlier, Lavasa was serving as the Environment Secretary.
