A leopard which created a scare in a village near Kaladhungi was captured today after a 30-hour operation, a forest official said.
The big cat had entered a house in Ranikota village yesterday creating a scare in the area. However, the house owner kept his cool and shut the room from outside before reporting the matter to the Forest department, Additional Chief Conservator of Forests Parag Madhukar Dhakate said.
Efforts to tranquilise the animal were launched by a team led by veterinary doctor Yogesh Bhardwaj but they failed as the shots were perhaps not strong enough to sedate it, Dhakate said.
