At least three persons were injured in a shooting incident at Los Angeles International Airport - one of the busiest in the US - prompting authorities to evacuate two terminals and ground all planes, reports said.

A suspect has been shot and is in police custody after the shooting at the airport, CNN reported quoting a security official. The suspect was carrying a high-powered rifle.

At least three people were injured, including one Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent, law enforcement officials said, adding that there was "no mass casualty incident" at the airport.

The reports said a person with a firearm at the airport approached a checkpoint at Terminal 3 and opened fire at a Transportation Security Administration agent. The suspect entered the terminal wearing military-like clothing, CBS News reported.

The Federal Aviation Authority said they grounded all planes at the airport following the shooting incident.

According to The Los Angeles Times, terminal 2 and 3 of the airport were evacuated. Several ambulances were seen at the airport.
