Maha cops to get cheaper medicines, discounted medical tests

In a new initiative for Maharashtra police, country's online pharmacy aggregator, PharmEasy, has decided to provide medicines at a discount of 25 per cent to the serving and retired police officials and their family members.
As part of the tie-up, PharmEasy will also provide a concession in the range of 40-60 per cent on various diagnostic tests to the members of the force and their families, a release issued by the firm said today.
As many as 1.2 lakh people- police personnel, serving as well as retired, and their family members, from across the four cities - Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Pune will be benefited in the immediate roll out.

Additional Director General of Police, Maharashtra, V V Lakhsmi Narayan, entered into this arrangement with PharmEasy on February 29.
The scheme will be initially implemented in the four cities and depending on its success; it will be rolled out to the entire state, Narayan said.
