Mamata's gesture for dead actress

The chief minister asked the state's housing minister, Arup Biswas, to pay Rs 11,455 to the hospital which held the the body of Dipti Roy, who died at the age of 82 following a protracted illness, for 25 hours.

Biswas said that after the chief minister came to know of the matter, she immediately asked him to pay the amount to the hospital and secure release of the body.

Biswas described the attitude of the hospital as 'inhuman' and alleged that the authorities took no efforts to hand over the body to the relatives as a mark of respect to the departed soul.

 

Dipti Roy was recently honoured with Uttam Kumar award by the chief minister.
