Man hacks mother to death, injures his sister, neice

A man today hacked his 58-year-old mother to death irked over her refusal to part with his share of property, and seriously injured his sister (RPT) sister and niece who tried to block him at Chettivilai area, police said.

Thangadurai fled soon after hacking them and a search was on to nab him, they said.

Police said he used to frequently pick up quarrels with his mother over the property issue. This morning he again did so and following his mother's refusal to give in to his demands, hacked her to death and seriously injured his sister (RPT) sister and niece.
 

Thangadurai's mother died on the spot and the injured have been admitted to Palayamkottai Medical college hospital where their condition is stated to be serious.
