Man sentenced to life for murdering mother-in-law

A local court today sentenced a 41-year-old man to life for murdering his mother-in-law in December last year.

The prosecution case was that Ramasamy frequently quarreled with his 65-year-old mother-in-law over a property dispute.

On December 9 last, Ramasamy went to his mother-in-law's house, quarreled with her and in a fit of anger he picked up a sickle and hacked her to death.

Erode District Mahila Court Judge N Thirunavukkarasu sentenced him to life for the murder.
