Man succumbs to burn wounds

A 59-year-old man today

succumbed to his burn injuries at the National Burns Centre in Airoli in the district, police said.

A person had allegedly poured kerosene on Chandra Ramrakhyani and tried to set him on fire yesterday following a quarrel, a senior police official of Vitthalwadi police station said.

Ramrakhyani runs a Wada Pav stall and the quarrel with the alleged accused one Suresh took place over it, he said.

Initially a case under section 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC was lodged but now it will converted to a murder case, the officer said, adding efforts are on to nab the accused.
