Man wanted in 14 cases of snatching, robbery held

A 39-year-old man, who was wanted in around 14 cases of snatching and robbery, has been arrested, police said today.

According to the police, Mohd Rashid, a resident of southeast Delhi's Tuglakabad Extention area, was arrested yesterday.

Rashid was known as "Mental" in his locality as he was very violent and impulsive, they said.

He was obsessed with inflicting injury on slightest opportunity available. Rashid always carried a button-actuated knife and used to rob people at its point, DCP (southeast) Romil Baaniya said in a statement.

The DCP said efforts were being made by a team of police personnel to trace the accused and he was arrested yesterday.
 

He was arrested for the first time in 2002 in Sangam Vihar for snatching Rs 1,000 from one Shabir.
