Mariah Carey lands a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Pop star Mariah Carey has been honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The 45-year-old "One Sweet Day" hitmaker posted a photo on Instagram of the big moment, reported Entertainment Weekly.

"What an incredible day. Thank you #lambs #lambily and everyone who made it happen. #star #hollywoodwalkoffame," she captioned the picture.

Carey also shared a picture of legendary actress Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell getting immortalised with the recognition outside the Chinese Theatre down the way.

"Childhood dream," she wrote alongside the photo.

The singer received the star nearly 25 years after her debut record.

Carey has made various television and film appearances and has sold more than 200 million albums worldwide.
