Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Kailash Meghwal today highlighted the importance of journalism in strengthening the democratic values and called upon the media to play its positive role in the society.
"Journalism has a distinguished place and a responsibility in the democracy. The journalist play important role in taking the discussions and deliberations, which take place in parliamentary democracy across the world," the Speaker said at a media workshop here.
He stressed that there is a need of serious thinking and brainstorming in setting new dimensions in the journalism.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore, Congress MLA Pradyuman Singh and others also addressed the workshop.
