Mentha oil prices fell further by 0.31 per cent to Rs 935.50 per kg in futures trade today as participants engaged in reducing their positions, tracking a weak trend at spot market on tepid demand from consuming industries.

Besides, adequate stocks position on increased arrivals from producing regions weighed on prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in April moved down by Rs 2.90, or 0.31 per cent to Rs 935.50 per kg in business turnover of 37 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in May contracts shed Rs 2.50, or 0.26 per cent to Rs 947.50 per kg in 76 lots.

Analysts said offloading of positions by traders, taking negative cues from spot market on muted demand from consuming industries against ample stocks position mainly kept mentha oil prices lower at futures trade.
