Temperatures in Harayana and Punjab hovered in the normal range for the second day today, providing respite to the people from cold weather.

However, fog reduced visibility at a few places in the morning, causing travel disruptions, a MeT department official said.

Police said a few vehicles were involved in a pile-up on the Rohtak-Delhi national highway due to poor visibility.

Amritsar in Punjab recorded a low of 8.1 deg C, Ludhiana 6.5, Halwara 7.8, Bathinda 7.7 and Patiala 7.

Gurdaspur and Adampur experienced a cold night at 3.8 degrees Celsius and 4.8 degrees Celsius.

The mercury in Chandigarh rose to 7.6 degrees Celsius.

In Haryana, Ambala registered a low of 8.2 degrees Celsius, while Hisar's minimum settled at 7.7 degrees Celsius.

Narnaul (8), Rohtak (9.1) and Sirsa (9.6) too recorded their temperatures above normal.
