Met warns of heavy rains at one or two places in north Bihar

Light to moderate rainfall occurred at a few places in Bihar while heavy rainfall was reported from one or two places in south east parts of the state.

The Patna Meteorological Centre today issued a warning that heavy rainfall is likely to take place at one or two places in north Bihar in the next 24 hours.

Bhagalpur registered 76.1 mm rainfall in past 24 hours (recorded between 8:30 am on Friday to 8:30 am on Saturday) followed by 4.9 mm in Purnea, 1.8 in Gaya and 0.2 in Patna during the same period, it said.

Banka received 5 cm of rain followed by 4 cm each in Chargharia (Kishanganj), Jehanabad, Sabour (Bhagalpur), 3 cm each in Barbigha, Sheikhpura (Sheikhpura), Forbesganj (Araria), Dhengraghat (Purnea).
 

Among the major cities, Patna recorded the highest maximum temperature at 34.0 degrees Celsius, followed by Gaya at 33.2 degrees, Bhagalpur at 32.7 and Purnea at 30.6 degrees, Met office said.

In its forecast, the Met department said that Patna may witness a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thunder showers tomorrow while Bhagalpur is likely to get moderate rain.
