Militants attack American University of Afghanistan in Kabul

Students are trapped inside classrooms

Explosions and gunfire rocked the American University of Afghanistan in Kabul today, an official and students trapped inside classrooms said, as the complex came under a militant attack.

"We are stuck inside my class with other students. I heard explosions and gunfire is going on close by," a desperate student told AFP by telephone.
