Minimum temperatures dip in North India

Capital Delhi recorded a maximum of 21.6 degrees celsius, one less than normal and a minimum of 9.5 degrees celsius one more than usual.

Minimum temperatures dropped in Punjab and Haryana by a few notches.

The minimum in Amritsar dropped to 4.6 deg C while Patiala too experienced a cold night at 6.8 deg C. Ludhiana recorded a low of 8.6 deg C, the MeT office said here.

Chandigarh, too, experienced a cold night at 7.4 deg C.

Narnaul in Haryana was the coldest place recording night temperature of 6.5 deg C followed by Karnal, where the minimum settled at 7 deg C.

 

Bhiwani's low settled at 7.4 deg C, Hisar recorded a minimum of 8.3 deg C while Ambala's low was 8.1 deg C.

The MeT said that maximum temperatures in the two states also dropped by few notches yesterday.

Chandigarh (20.2 C), Ambala (21 C), Hisar (22 C), Karnal (21 C), Amritsar (20.6 C), Ludhiana (20.4 C) and Patiala (20.8 C) recorded below normal maximum temperatures yesterday.

The MeT here has forecast mainly sunny days in the two states and Chandigarh until tomorrow.

Mist or shallow fog may occur during night and morning in isolated pockets in the two states, the MeT forecast says.

There was a dip in temperatures in Rajasthan also. While Churu recorded a minimum of 3.9 deg C, in Chittorgarh it was 5.2 deg C, Ajmer 7.5 and Jaipur 7.7 deg C.
