Minor raped in Telangana

A seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana after luring her with a chocolate, police said today.

The incident occurred last evening in Kolhapur village of Mahabubnagar when the minor girl was playing near her grandmother's house, when one Basheer, a car-driver offered her a chocolate and took her to a isolated place and allegedly violated her, Kolhapur Police Station Sub-Inspector Manojkumar said based on a complaint lodged by the victim's parents.

Following the complaint, a case was registered today under relevant sections of IPC and POCSO Act and a hunt has been launched to nab the accused, who is absconding, the SI said. Probe is on.
