'Mission Big Cat' to sensitise about tiger, lion conservation

'Mission Big Cat', a six-week programme aimed at sensitising people about the need to conserve lions, leopards and tigers was launched today on a television channel.

The programme on Big Cats, which will run till November 12, includes segments like 'Snow Leopards of Ladakh', 'Looking for Sultan', 'Decoding the Man-Eater of Sundarbans', 'Amur Tiger' and 'Cheetahs against all odds', among others.

Actors Tapsee Pannu and Ranna Daggubati have come on board for the campaign to promote tiger conservation, to be aired on Animal Planet.

The cast of 'Golmaal 4' - Ajay Devgn, Parineeti Chopra and director Rohit Shetty have also been roped in to sensitise people about the need for tiger conservation.
 

"Mission Big Cat is an attempt to make people understand how Big Cats live and how we can save them.

"We will showcase programming that enlightens viewers about the behaviour, predatory skills of Big Cats and issues related to their conservation," Discovery Communications India Vice-President (premium and digital networks) Zulfia Waris said.

The programme will be aired every day from 9 pm till November 12.
