The Chandigarh administration here today announced to give one time incentive grant of Rs one lakh to the union territory's boys and girls, who join the Armed Forces training academies as cadets and complete their courses successfully.
"The scheme which has been modeled on similar scheme by the Government of Punjab, will come in to force with effect from September 11 last year," the official spokesperson said.
This step has been taken to encourage the young students from the city to take up careers in the defence forces as officers, he added.
