Amid the crackdown on call money rackets in Andhra Pradesh, the police in Srikakulam district today conducted raids at several places and detained five persons and seized blank signed cheques and promissory notes.
Three moneylenders were detained by Srikakulam I Town police, one in Itchapuram and another by Srikakulam II Town police.
In Vizianagaram district, police arrested 15 money lenders and recovered hundreds of promissory notes.
