MoS Railways announces doubling of Muzaffarnagar-Tapri line

Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha today sanctioned a Rs 376 crore project for doubling and electrification of Muzaffarnagar-Tapri railway station.

Vouching for better infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh, the minister said that steps would be initiated to raise the state's railway networks, national highways and power supply.

Sinha told reporters here that the Centre has sanctioned a Rs 376 crore project for doubling and electrification of Muzaffarnagar-Tapri railway station, owing to popular demands.

He said that doubling along with electrification is sanctioned for the 51.53 km line parallel to the existing alignment.

The project will include construction of 6 additional loop lines, 9 high-level platforms, a 6-feet over bridge, Sinha said, adding that work will be carried out at six stations of the Muzaffarnagar-Tapri railway line.
 

As part of the project, 31 minor bridges and 2 major bridges will also be built and shall have the potential of 110 km, he said.

The minister added that the project would be completed in a span of 3 years.
