National Rail Museum becomes free Wi-Fi zone

The National Rail Museum today became a free Wi-Fi zone as Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu dedicated the facility to the visitors of this heritage site.

The Wi-Fi facility has been commissioned by RailTel in association with Google for providing high-speed state-of-the- art internet experience to the hundreds of people visiting the museum everyday.

The service built over the fiber network of RailTel is designed to offer world-class broadband-like experience to users.

Along with experiencing the rich history of Indian Railways, the visitors of this museum will now be able to use the high-speed internet to easily stream a high definition video, download a book or a new game.
 

RailTel, a railways PSU, is also in the process of providing Wi-Fi at five more tourists sites in the capital at Red Fort, Humayun's Tomb, Safdarjung's Tomb, Qutub Minar and Rajpath Lawns being maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India.

Free Wi-Fi services have already been provided at about 115 stations across the country.
