The wife of the Nepalese Ambassador to India today called upon Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal and discussed the issue of trafficking of women from her country to India.
"The ambassador's wife told Maliwal that after the recent earthquake in Nepal, the trafficking of girls to India has increased. The two also discussed the possible ways of tackling the issue," a DCW statement said.
Condemning the alleged rape of a domestic help by a Saudi diplomat and his associates, Mithula Upadhyay said that the two countries needed to work together to combat the problem of trafficking.

The ambassador's wife, who has worked with various women's organisations in Nepal and India, also shared her experiences and the problems faced by women who become victims of trafficking.
