The Odisha government has invited bids from national and international companies in the hospitality sector for e-auction of plots to develop 10 new hotels in Bhubaneswar.
Of the 10 hotels, six will be in the star category (3- star and above) and the remaining ones will be in the budget category, said Odisha Industries Secretary Sanjeev Chopra.
Despite the presence of luxury, mid-range and budget hotels in Bhubaneswar, the hospitality sector in the city needs further investment to cater to the rising demand, he said.

Keeping in mind the burgeoning demand from tourists and sports lovers, the state government is creating a land bank of 1,000 acres to attract more investment in the tourism sector, Chopra added.
