One arrested for constable's death

The incident took place in Bharat Nagar area at around 2:45 AM and the deceased has been identified as Naresh Kumar (42).

"We have arrested Sukha (30) in connection with the murder," police said.

"They were patrolling the streets when a message was flashed over wireless that some criminals were passing through the area in a mini-truck. Barricades were erected. After spotting the mini-truck, Kumar and a home guard started chasing them. During the chase, the truck hit the motorcycle from its right," they said.

The constable, who was riding the bike, lost control and fell on the ground. "He was run over by the mini-truck. He died on the spot," they said.
