One arrested with over 2 kg cannabis in J&K

A man has been arrested for allegedly possessing over two kg of cannabis at Jammu railway station, Railway Police said.

During the checking of luggage at Jammu railway station yesterday, 2.5 kg cannabis was recovered from the bag of one Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Bihar, a Railway Police official said.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had brought the consignment from Bihar to be sold among youths in Jammu, he said.

Kumar was arrested and booked under various sections of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the official said.
