Cash offerings in the Hundis during the ten-day 'Thaipoosam' festival which ended last week at the Dhandayuthapaniswamy shrine here touched a record Rs.3.44 crore, Temple officials said today.
Temple Executive Rajamanikam said as the hundis became full,they opened it yesterday and could complete counting only today.
Cash offerings alone touched Rs.3,44,06667. In addition to this, gold coins and ornaments weighing 839gm had been offered. Silver articles weigh 19.891kg.
He said 533 foreign currency of various denominations were also found.Besides other items like cardamom garland and wrist watches had also been offered.
