According to the official, a shopkeeper named Bharat Kumar informed security personnel early morning that a 64GB Apple iPhone, costing Rs 57,900, was missing from his store.
"Immediately CCTV footage of the location was reviewed by CISF surveillance team and it was found that one passenger wearing blue T-shirt picked up the iPhone clandestinely from the shop," the official said.
It was found that the passenger had already boarded a flight to Jodhpur and hence the CISF team at the airport in that city was alerted, he said.
"The passenger was intercepted at Jodhpur airport and the stolen iPhone was recovered," the official said.
The Central Industrial Security Force, deployed to guard country's airports, has detected and cracked many such instances of high-value theft at airports with the help of CCTV surveillance and security personnel.
