Beatles legend Paul McCartney is planning to take his One On One Tour to Australia and New Zealand.

Michael Gudinski's Frontier Touring Company will produce the tour, which will be McCartney's first in Australia and New Zealand since 1993's The New World Tour, 24 years ago, reported Billboard.

On his December trip, McCartney will fill out stadiums and arenas in Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland.

In a first for McCartney and FTC, the trek was unveiled in a Facebook Live event with musical comedy master Tim Minchin interviewing the legendary singer and bass player about his live plans.

McCartney will be accompanied with his bandmate Paul "Wix" Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) on the trans- Tasman run, which starts December 2 at nib Stadium in Perth and wraps up December 16 at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland.

"We've been waiting to get back to Australia and New Zealand for years and now it's finally happening. It is very exciting, comments McCartney in a statement.

"I'm really looking forward to the concerts as we've always had such a brilliant time whenever we've been before so we know we are in for a treat. Can't wait to see you and all rock out together.
