Photo journo-turned novelist Harisankar is dead

Senior press photographer and Malayalam novelist S Harisankar, who suffered brain haemorrhage, died at a private hospital here Thursday, local press club officials said.

Harisankar, 48, was admitted to the hospital after he suffered the haemorrhage following a fall on Monday.

He is survived by his wife and a daughter.

Beginning his career in 1989 with Mangalam daily, he worked for various publications of the group.

Later, he shifted his focus towards writingnovels for various weeklies.
