Polytechnic student commits suicide over exam stress

A 20-year-old polytechnic student allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her room at Kachchi Basti in Govindnagar area here, police said today.

Preeti, who had come home from Etawah for Holi holidays, yesterday committed suicide, they said.

Police said Preeti took the extreme step as she was stressed due to her exams which were due from March 21.

The body has been sent for post-mortem, police said, adding, a case has been registered and the matter is being investigated.
