Punjab Congress leader C D Kamboj today joined Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) along with his supporters in the presence of AAP's state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur.

Congress' Punjab unit vice-president Col C D Kamboj said that the infighting among the state Congress leaders made him quit the party and join AAP.

"In the current political scenario it seems that Congress is not in a position to challenge the Akalis in Punjab since its own leaders are busy infighting," he said.

Without naming anybody, Kamboj claimed, all Congress leaders are involved in fighting each other and that he had met the party's Punjab incharge Shakeel Ahmed and also Sonia and Rahul Gandhi regarding his decision.

"My friends and family members advised me to leave Congress and I too felt that AAP would be the best option as it has always been fighting corruption," he said.

The leader who had joined BSP after retiring from the Army and then Congress, before choosing AAP said, "I don't have greed for position. Had that been the case then I would not have left the post of Congress' Punjab unit vice-president and joined AAP. I would execute whatever role this party assigns me to my fullest capability.
