RBL Bank opens IFSC banking unit at GIFT City

Commencing its offshore banking operations from India, private sector lender RBL Bank today announced the opening of its IFSC banking unit at the Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City).

RBI has permitted domestic public and private sector banks to open an IFSC banking units (IBU) at GIFT City to undertake foreign exchange transactions with resident and non-resident entities other than individuals.

"The IBU will give RBL Bank access to international financial markets and the bank will offer a range of products and services to its clients," the bank said.

RBL Bank will raise foreign currency funds to meet its requirements in IBU and fund offshore subsidiaries of Indian companies, other foreign firms, and eligible Indian companies (via ECBs, Bonds etc.), it added.

Private sector telco RCOM today tied up with Cumulocity to roll out internet of things products and services.

The platform, christened 'Enablement', will allow businesses to connect any device over any network, and manage and store asset data, by controlling them in real-time by monitoring device availability and administer and rectify device faults, it said in a statement.

It will deliver cater to industry verticals such as industrial automation, healthcare, financial services and asset tracking, it said.

Google India today said it has launched Google Play Music subscription in the country, which will offer a music catalogue of over 40 million local and international hits.

Google Play Music will allow users to stream music using minimal data on mobile, it said in a statement.

"This music can be accessed from any device with Google account. To make the experience deeply personalised, we've plugged into Google's understanding of context and machine learning to recommend the right music at the right moment based on each listener's preference, place and activity," said Google Play Music Lead Product Manager Elias Roman.
