Refined soya oil prices were up by 0.22 per cent to Rs 694.60 per 10 kg in futures trading today as traders built up fresh positions amid uptick in demand at the domestic spot markets against tight supplies from producing belts.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in March went up by Rs 1.50, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 694.60 per 10 kg, with an open interest of 43,330 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in February edged up by Rs 1.15, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 703.30 per 10 kg in 30,470 lots.

Marketmen said fresh positions created by participants following pick up in demand in the spot market against fall in supplies from producing belts, mainly led to the rise in refined soya oil prices at futures trade.
