Uncertainty over the land use plan for Goa is likely to continue as state Town and Country Planning department has sought the opinion of Goa government on it.
Regional Plan, a land use map for the state, courted controversy after the Parsekar-led government failed to meet the deadline set to finalise it.
"We have moved to the state government asking their suggestions over the issue. The government should scrap the proposed plan, draft a new one or superimpose two plans (2002 and 2012). This is a big decision and it should be taken in the cabinet," Deputy Chief Minister Francisco D'Souza told reporters today.

D'Souza, who is also the Town and Country Planning department minister, said work on the plan will begin only after the cabinet takes a decision on it.
The minister said while the Regional Plan (RP) is still incomplete, the process of drafting Outline Development Plan (ODP) for urban areas is on.
He said ODPs are independent of the RP finalisation. A section of society has been opposing the review of ODPs, claiming it as a move to convert the farmland into settlement zones.
D'Souza said those who feel that there is an ill intention behind reviewing of ODPs should submit their suggestions before the authorities concerned and it will be taken into consideration.
