Meanwhile, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda laid stress on furthering the pro-farmer and pro-poor policies of former Union Minister late Rajesh Pilot. "Promoting his ideology will be the true homage to the departed leader," Hooda said. "The UPA government under the guidance of Sonia Gandhi and Prime Ministership of Dr Manmohan Singh waived off the loans of the farmers upto Rs 70,000 crore. "For the poor, the Congress started the MNREGA scheme and other pro-poor programmes both for rural and urban areas, which have helped in raising the living standard of the poor," he said.
