Music producer Rick Rubin will be honoured by Recording Academy officials next year in recognition of his groundbreaking career.
The music mogul, who co-founded Def Jam Records and has worked with artists like Adele, Jay Z, Eminem, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Kanye West, will be feted during a special ceremony in Los Angeles on February 11, in the week leading up to the Grammy Awards, reported Billboard magazine.
"Rick Rubin has said he has one rule regarding his recording process, 'The only rule is that it's not done until it's great,'" says Neil Portnow, president and CEO of The Recording Academy.
