Robust spot demand lifts aluminium by 0.32%

Aluminium prices went up by 0.32 per cent to Rs 154.55 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions, taking positive cues from spot market on pick up in demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery

in May edged up by 50 paise, or 0.32 per cent to Rs 154.55 per kg in business turnover of 340 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in June was enquiring higher by 40 paise, or 0.26 per cent to Rs 155.65 per kg in 113 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions by participants after upsurge in demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly led to the rise in aluminium prices at futures trade.
