Over 310 persons of various institutions and organisations in the city, including Delhi Metro were penalised after breeding of mosquitoes was reported in their premises, officials today said.
"317 persons of various institutions and organisations were challaned. In South Zone 87, in West Zone 76, in Najafgarh Zone 52 and in Central Zone 102 persons were challaned," the South Delhi Municipal Corporation said.
The SDMC said action has been taken to curb the menace of vector-borne diseases.

The institutions challaned included A R S D College, DMRC sites in Chirag Delhi and Malviya Nagar metro station, it said.
"7,633 prosecutions have been launched so far. 59,466 legal notices have been issued for breeding of mosquitoes. Health education measures have also been taken," SDMC said in a statement.
According to a municipal report released, 2,133 dengue cases have been recorded till October 1. At least 21 people have died due to dengue this season.
At least 5,293 people have been afflicted with chikungunya in the national capital this season while 15 have died of complications triggered by it.
