Though the district admnistration recently announced that the affected families would be relocated to a resettlement colony by March 31, 2013, villagers of Satbhaya and Kanhupur refuse to believe it and boycotted the official palli sabha meeting at Satbhaya on Monday.

"The palli sabha could not be organised as people opposed it", confirmed Block Development Officer, Rajnagar Pradipta Mohanty today.

Sarpanch of Satbhaya Gram Panchayat Nigamananda Rout said, "The holding of the palli sabha was nothing but illogical. At a time when the government announced that people are to be relocated to a safer spot within next six months, the convening of palli sabha to chalk out development project in the gram panchayat is a meaningless exercise".

"The project to shift the residents to safer places is underway. They would be shifted to the safety of Bagapatia rehabilitation colony by March 31, 2013, Kendrapara Collector Durga Prasad Behera said.

Officials said the breakup of families being rehabilitated is, Satabhaya - 220, Kanhupur - 16, Barahipur-9, Rabindrapalli - 26, and Magarakanda - 216.
