Puducherry government has for the first time rolled out monthly pension scheme for media persons in the Union Territory.
Nine senior correspondents have been selected for the monthly assistance of Rs 6000 to each of them.
Correspondents who have turned 58 years and have put in a minimum of 20 years service as reporters in the Union Territory besides being residents here for a continued period of 10 years have been selected for the pension.
