The Maharashtra government today transferred six bureaucrats including IAS officer Tukaram Mundhe against whom a no-confidence motion was moved in 2016 during his stint as the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) commissioner.

The 2005 batch IAS officer, currently serving as Chairman and Managing Director, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd, has been posted as Nashik Municipal Corporation Commissioner, an official from the General Administration Department (GAD) said.

Mundhe will replace Abhishek Krishna, an IAS officer of 2006 batch, who is current Nashik civic chief.

Krishna will take charge as Joint Chief Executive Officer, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Mumbai.

K V Kurundkar, a 2002 batch IAS officer, has been posted as Secretary, Agriculture and Agriculture Development Fund (ADF) Department, Mantralaya.

He was currently posted as Joint Managing Director, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC).

Naina Gunde, of 2008 batch, has been posted as Chairman and Managing Director, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited, Pune.

Prerna Deshbhratar, of 2010 batch, has been named as Deputy Secretary, Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, Mantralaya.

Currently, she is Additional Municipal Commissioner, Pune Municipal Corporation.

Deepak Kumar Meena, of 2013 batch, has been named as Managing Director, Maharashtra State Co-operative Milk Federation (MAHANAND), Mumbai.

The NCP-headed NMMC passed had passed the motion against Mundhe, known as an upright officer who had cracked a whip against illegal constructions and encroachments linked to some Navi Mumbai politicians, in October 2016.

However, the state government suspended the no-confidence motion in November that year.
